How we list businesses
Where listings come from
We start from public business information: name, address, phone number, website and business category. Then we read each business's own website for the facts we show, such as the pool brands it names and whether it repairs or resurfaces fiberglass pools.
Who gets listed
A business is listed when its own website says it sells, installs or repairs fiberglass pools, and it has a phone number or website. Pool builders that only build concrete or vinyl liner pools are not listed. We leave out pool supply stores, pool cleaning services and manufacturers' factories. National chain locations are listed and marked as chain locations.
About pool brands
The brands shown on a listing are the ones the company names on its own website, as of the date we read it. We do not confirm dealer agreements with manufacturers, so if a specific brand matters to you, ask the company.
How listings are ordered
On city pages, businesses that paid for placement come first and are labeled Ad. After that, independent businesses come before chain locations, businesses that publish their prices come next, and the rest are listed alphabetically. Reviews and star ratings do not affect order, because we do not collect or republish them.
Keeping it current
We re-read business websites about every 30 days. If something is wrong, use Report a correction on any listing and we will fix it, usually within one business day. Businesses can ask us to remove their listing at any time.
